Strike-preparedness score

France has the highest strike frequency in Europe. Some weeks are predictably riskier than others. Pick your date and mode of transport — the tool returns the historical likelihood and a Plan B.

What this tool actually solves

Two-thirds of French strikes are predictable by date (rentrée sociale in September, May 1, autumnal protests). The remaining one-third depend on local issues (e.g. a factory redundancy announcement). This tool maps the date to a historical baseline.

How to read the result

The result gives a strike likelihood score (0–100), the historical reason, and the practical Plan B for the chosen mode.

Limitations

A specific strike announcement (e.g. a one-day SNCF strike on March 18) is not predictable 6 weeks before. This tool gives the historical baseline for the chosen date — the actual likelihood on a specific day may be much higher if a strike is announced.

FAQ

Where do I check for active strikes?
RATP: ratp.fr (live updates). SNCF: sncf-connect.com. Air France: airfrance.com. Government strike calendar: greve.fr.
What if my flight gets cancelled?
EU 261/2004 protects you: re-routing or full refund. If the strike is the airline's decision (e.g. Air France strike), the airline is responsible. For weather/ATC strikes, the airline can refuse compensation.
