Built by people who actually take the TGV, queue at the boulangerie on Monday, get caught in the May 1 supermarket closures, and lose the navigo card. Every calculator answers the boring questions the official sites skip: is the pass cheaper? when does this café actually close? what do I do when the RER is on strike?
Prices, opening hours, strike risk levels and transport fares are pulled from the public 2024–2026 source pages we list in every tool's footer. No fake "live" APIs that go offline on your trip.
Every form runs the calculation client-side with inline scripts. We do not run analytics, do not log form input, and do not set first-party cookies. See the privacy section below.
Each tool was picked because someone we know got it wrong in France: tipped twice, missed the last métro, paid for a museum pass they did not use. The explanations spell out the trap.

Who built this and why. France Trip Toolkit is an independent project. We are not affiliated with RATP, SNCF, Paris tourist office or any museum. We built it because the official sources are correct but unhelpful: they tell you what the price is, not whether the price is worth paying. Every calculator takes a hard-coded 2024–2026 fact (a fare, an opening hour, a refund rule) and answers the question the official sites skip: "is this actually a good idea for me?".
What it is good at. Cross-tool comparisons (Navigo vs single tickets; supermarket vs autoroute fuel; restaurant vs picnic; hospital vs SOS Médecins). Anything that needs the boring arithmetic of a French rule (tipping thresholds, reimbursement rates, taxi surcharges).
What it is not. It is not a booking engine. It does not sell tickets. It does not replace the SNCF Connect app for a real-time platform number, or the official pharmacy finder for an emergency call. Where a real-time official source is the right answer, the tool tells you to go there.
How we verify. Every page lists its source links in the footer. Numbers come from the official 2024–2026 price grids published by SNCF, RATP, Paris.fr, Service-Public.fr, Atout France, and the relevant ministry. When a fact could not be verified against an official source, the tool says "estimate" or "verify locally" — we prefer to mark something uncertain than to confidently publish a wrong number.
Limitations. Prices and rules change. Fares can change twice yearly in France (July and January typically). Hours and closures change seasonally. A tool that was right in March 2026 may be wrong in August 2026. Always re-check the official page when the answer is consequential (a non-refundable booking, a medical bill, a court appearance).
Short version. We do not collect your personal data. We do not run analytics. We do not set cookies. We do not have an account system. We do not see your form input.
What runs in your browser stays in your browser. Every calculation on every page is performed by inline JavaScript on your device. The inputs you type (a budget, a date, a route) are never sent to a server. There is no analytics SDK, no error reporter, no telemetry endpoint and no third-party tracker on any tool page.
Third-party content. This site loads exactly two third-party assets, both via public CDN: Tailwind CSS for styling and Font Awesome for icons. Neither of these vendors receives form input, page content, or any unique user identifier from us. Both vendors may log CDN-level request metadata (your IP, request time, User-Agent) at their own edge — this is normal CDN operation and is governed by their own privacy policies.
Advertising. If advertising is shown on this site in the future, it will be Google AdSense. AdSense uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on the visit to this and/or other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or aboutads.info. EEA/UK visitors will be shown a Google-certified consent management platform banner before any advertising cookies are set; the banner blocks ad serving until explicit consent is given. We do not place advertising on input fields, buttons, navigation, or anywhere it could be confused with site functionality.
Children. This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes. If this policy changes, the change is dated at the bottom of this section and the policy is archived in the public Git history of this project. We will not silently start collecting data.
